Today, Friday, October 23, 2026, we remember El Dorado County Sheriffโ€™s Deputy Brian โ€œIshโ€ Ishmael, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty seven years ago.

Deputy Ishmael was killed on October 23, 2019, while responding to a call for service. He was 37 years old and had proudly served four years with the El Dorado County Sheriffโ€™s Office, following two years with the Placerville Police Department.

Beyond his dedication to law enforcement, Brian was a husband, father of three, son, brother, and friend whose loss continues to be felt throughout our community.

Today, the El Dorado County District Attorneyโ€™s Office joins our law enforcement partners and community in honoring Deputy Ishmaelโ€™s life, service, and sacrifice.
Our thoughts remain with his family, friends, and fellow deputies.
