Today, at the California District Attorneyβs Association Annual Conference, Denise and Aaron Quinn were honored with the 2025 Witness of the Year Award β a powerful recognition of their courage, resilience, and advocacy.
Ten years ago, Denise and Aaron survived a terrifying home invasion and kidnapping. But what followed β disbelief, ridicule, and wrongful accusations was another trauma entirely.
Their fight to be believed, featured in πππ©ππ‘ππβπ¨ πΌπ’ππ§ππππ£ πππππ©π’ππ§π, led to the conviction of serial predator Matthew Muller and the reopening of cold cases across multiple counties.
Their perseverance didnβt stop with justice. Denise and Aaron are now helping reform how law enforcement interviews survivors β promoting Science-Based Interviewing methods grounded in truth and fairness.
βThey didnβt just survive,β said El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson. βThey are helping drive meaningful change.β
We are proud to stand with CDAA in honoring the Quinns β not only for surviving, but for helping build a more just system for others.
