On January 12, 2026, Holly Marie Kelly was sentenced in El Dorado County Superior Court (Dept. 2) to 32 months in state prison after pleading guilty to felony driving under the influence. Kelly also had a prior felony DUI on her record and a prior strike conviction โ€“ a previous conviction for a serious or violent felony under California law.

This case stems from a November 3, 2024 crash on Sierra Oaks Drive investigated by the California Highway Patrol. Witnesses reported Kelly was driving at a high rate of speed in a 25-mph residential area before the collision. Officers also observed signs of impairment, and Kelly admitted drinking before driving. Alcohol testing showed a BAC as high as 0.32%, more than three times the legal limit.

Driving under the influence puts lives at riskโ€”every time. If you plan to drink, please choose a safe ride: designate a sober driver, use a rideshare, or call a friend. If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 911.
