The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is providing the following update regarding the officer-involved shooting that occurred earlier today:

There are no outstanding suspects and there are no known threats to public safety in the area of Mountain View Dr. in Camino. The 700 block of Mountain View Dr. is closed due to the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted according to the El Dorado County Critical Incident Protocol with multiple investigators from the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, Placerville Police, South Lake Tahoe Police, and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Both the injured deputies were transported to a hospital by ambulance and are in stable condition. The suspect was flown by air ambulance and is also receiving medical treatment at a regional hospital. We would like to thank our law enforcement partners who assisted us and thank the community for the outpouring of support for our injured deputies.

Today at around 07:25 am, EDSO responded to a residence on Mountain View Drive in Camino. A PG&E crew reported that they were shot at, with one employee injured. While EDSO was at the scene, an Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred. Two deputies and the suspect were shot. They were all transported by medics to area hospitals. This is still an active scene and ongoing investigation. Law enforcement will remain in the area. Further information will be released once it is available.
