At this week’s Board of Supervisors meeting, District Attorney Vern Pierson spoke following the proclamation of April 19th – 25th, 2026 as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week in El Dorado County.
In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of continuing our work to keep El Dorado County one of the safest counties in California—by ensuring victims are supported, empowered, and heard.
This proclamation serves as a reminder that while the journey toward justice can be challenging—especially as criminal justice reform and post-conviction processes continue to evolve—our collective efforts can lead to meaningful change and healing for individuals and families affected by crime.
