The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce the newest addition to our Investigative Division, K9 Perl. Perl is a 15-month-old yellow Labrador Retriever who has been trained in locating electronic storage devices (ESD) including hard drives, cell phones, air tags, and micro SD cards. After thirteen days straight of grueling training, she and her handler, Investigator John Robertson obtained certification in indoor, outdoor, vehicle, and water searches. In addition to supporting our law enforcement partners in El Dorado County, Perl will be deployed as a member of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to assist in operations throughout Northern California. We would like to thank the National Computer Forensics Institute and Jordan Detection K9 for providing the funding, animals, and training for this amazing program.
