Placerville, CA โ On September 29, 2025, Matthew Tisdale entered a no-contest plea to Possession of a Controlled Substance after Two Prior Convictions which is a felony.
Tisdale was sentenced to 180 days in county jail and placed on two years of formal probation by Judge Ralphs in Department 2 of the El Dorado County Superior Court.
On January 24, 2025, El Dorado County Sheriffโs Deputies Deal and Combs were patrolling near Highway 50 and Red Hawk Parkway in Shingle Springs when they stopped a white GMC Envoy displaying expired registration tabs. The driver, identified as Matthew Tisdale, could not provide current registration.
Deputies began the process of towing the vehicle as the registration had been expired for over 6 months. Deputies asked the occupants to exit the vehicle. As Tisdale exited the vehicle, he held up a small plastic baggie, saying it โhad diamonds in it.โ He also said there were needles in the car but โI donโt slam.โ
Deputies observed a baggie containing a suspected controlled substance, three hypodermic needles, and a broken methamphetamine pipe inside the vehicle. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine (.1 grams), and Tisdale was arrested.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address illegal drug activity and protect the safety of our community.
