Today, members of the El Dorado County District Attorneyโs Office took part in the annual Drug Store Project in South Lake Tahoe, a key initiative aimed at educating our youth on the dangers of substance abuse. This countywide program, supported by over 45 agencies, brings together community partners to raise awareness about the serious consequences of substance use.
Focusing on courtroom education, the District Attorneyโs Office helps students understand the legal consequences of drug-related offenses. The Drug Store Project, a fund of the El Dorado Community Foundation, is a vital middle school prevention program that has been running since 2003.
Each year, more than 200 volunteers and representatives from 45+ agencies come together to share this important message with students from South Tahoe Middle School (CA), George Whittell High School (NV), Alpine County, and local home-schooled youth.
Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our young people!
